Windows 7: Before the Install - What Software To Have On Hand?

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Thanks for all the input.

Also, thanks for giving a newbie a break. I just noticed there is a “Software” section on the board and I should have posted there. Duh!!

Already downloaded all the needed drivers. Making sure to get one that works with Win7, or at least the latest version. It's a great thing to do while at work. Makes me look busy.

Again, thanks for all the advice.

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

I ordered Win7 today. I'll start a sudo-diary of the install process. Once I'm up and online, I'll post my progress. Keep your fingers crossed!

Windows 7, Linux

Most of the new process is all automated. What people won't tell you is that it's just a pre-image that's loaded to your hdd and booted. There isn't any real install process, it's more like loading a boot-loader and unzipping a large image to your hdd. Infact ever since Vista you don't really have multiple files, all the files are hard links to a single location. Much like linux now.
