    Readyboost removed in 7022

I have just noticed that readyboost has been completely removed/disabled in build 7022..

Anyone know a way of getting it back?

No i never use it to be honest, someone on another forum asked me if it was present, after seeing it in 7000 i said yes, but on closer inspection the tab is missing in properties.. i never tried the auto play my card is empty right now.

What you mean removed? I can't find it under services (wanted to disable) ,but the tab for it is still there under properties. I don't have enough free space to turn it on to see if it works, but it is showing up under 7022

Windows 7 only uses a Service when its required, it will not run any service thats either not is use by an application or when its not required, disabling the ReadyBoost service on Win7 will only prevent its use in the future...if and when you decide to try use it two or three years down the road when you forget you disabled it then try using it, then it will be problematic

If the Readyboost tab is still present on the HDD properties then it will still function, if the service is non-existent then it just means Microsoft are using a driver instead of a service since drivers have better performance

You need to make sure superfetch service is running for readyboost to work.

Did you do clean install? I upgraded, don't know if it makes any difference

I clean installed and my readyboost is gone. I have a 2gb USB that I bought specifically for RB under Vista. Now there is no option to turn on RB for it. However when I plug my cell phone into the PC I get the RB option on the autoplay dialogue but clicking the RB link does nothing.
