Why not select a homepage. If you dont know how its easy. Go to the page of your choice. Then tools upper left, the internet options. Then just type in the page shown in the address ba,r you can even chose a blank page, if speed is important to you.

If this is only happening on a certain site I would suspect that the site is an unsafe site that IE8 is intercepting when it attempts to hijack your homepage.

I don't know if you have done this, but be sure you have assigned a page as your Home Page. First go to a page you want as your home page. Click on Tools, then Internet Options. Click on the General Tab and click on Use Current. This will establish your Home Page.

My MSN home page gone
Last night I and noticed MS made a change to the home page again. Gone is the "friendly" look of the original page. Internet Options still shows "http//my.msn.com/". but it's a totally different 'mish-mash' of articles. Guess we're stuck with this last creation - or change to another home page.
