Calm down. I wholeheartedly apologize if my personal opinions/thoughts/ideas offended you on a personal level. (I can't think of any other reason why you would be so defensive, unless your 12 years old, or your parents were killed by another OS and you swore revenge Batman style.:) )
As part of the healing process repeat after me: "It's just an operating system. It means nothing. It's just a tool."
Those are the only reasons I can think of why I personally would swap OSs again, it doesn't mean that I think they will all happen immediately. I am perfectly happy with Windows 7 on my desktop at the moment.
Activation issues? From the Windows website:
Limitations of closed source: Steve Hargadon: What Are the Limitations of Proprietary Software? I like to tinker. When you make a significant hardware change to your computer, such as upgrading the hard disk and memory at the same time, you might be required to activate Windows again.
Viruses: Did you see the (Not likely, I know.) at the end of the sentence? That means that it's not something I anticipate. Why does it offend people that there are no viruses in the wild for Linux and not many for Mac OS X? Also should I be scared to use the Internet just incase I run into one of these sites?
Anyway, please don't take this post to heart. Mark.
Bravo what goyta said.
Spoiled by a dinasaur.I guess I’m too spoiled by XP ...
You hardly needed to quote anything from the MS website to me. I'm familiar with that and more. Again, just WHY do you worry about activation issues? Did you grow up to be fearful of things that in all likelihood never occur?? I hope you don't live in California, because we just MIGHT fall into the ocean some day...
Does anyone know what OS the server of this website is using?
The site runs windows server but I'm not sure about the version - I think it's 2008 or maybe now even 2008 R2
Oh my god, really? Are we arguing over who has a problem with the OS? ****, I hate MS too but I need it for games and at least will say Win7 is the best so far and I'm a linux man. **** why are you arguing!? So what, let him not like his Activation ****, just like I don't like many Win7 aspects. =P Don't get AnGrY!!!
