I'm using ESET Secuity .. Only update i did was updated my Creative Media Source player .. Didn't try System Restore ... Only thing i can think of would be i used Windows 7 Manager to do some Tweaks not sure whether that caused it | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Samsung NP550P5C-S02IN OS Windows 7 Ultimate - 64-bit | Windows 8 Pro - 64-bit CPU Intel® Core™ i7 Processor 3,610QM (2.30Hz, 6MB L3 Cach Memory 8 GB Graphics Card NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 650M 2GB Graphics, Optimus™ techno Sound Card SoundAlive™ JBL 3 Speakers (With sub-Woofer) Monitor(s) Displays 39.62cm (15.6) SuperBright 300nit HD+ LED Display Screen Resolution 1,600 x 900, Anti-Reflective Hard Drives 1TB S-ATA II Hard Drive (5,400RPM) |

Tweaks? Use system restore and then uninstall Eset and use Microsoft Security Essentials instead to eliminate the antivirus as the problem. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s |

Yes,. Tara is right,. go to Control Panel >>> Administrative tools and Computer management is located there.
The Manage issue could be related to the context menu or the registry..
I can post as registry script and compare It yo yours | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Cheap $399.00 E-Machine OS Windows 7 Pro & Vista Home Premium CPU Athlon 64 3800+ (Orleans) 2.40GHz Motherboard Winfast Memory 2GB DDR2 RAM DIMM Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 8500 GT 512 MB memory HDMI out Sound Card creative X-Fi Exteme 7..1 channel Monitor(s) Displays Acer V223W 22" widescreen DVI Screen Resolution 1680x1050 Keyboard Dell Mouse Sony Vaio PSU OCZ 550 watt Case Gateway Cooling 2 fans Hard Drives WDC WD5 500GB

sfc /scannow may fix it from an elevated command prompt.
Otherwise, it's usually from an installed application, most notable being antivirus.
The tweaks may have had a hand in causing it. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS 7600.20510 x86 CPU P4 550 3.4 GHz HT running at 3.5 GHz Motherboard MSI PM8M3-V (MS-7211 v1.x) Micro-ATX mainboard Memory OCZ 2 GB(2x1GB) DDR400mHz running @ 414 mHz Graphics Card HIS Radeon HD 3850 IceQ 3 Turbo HDMI Dual DL-DVI AGP Sound Card MOTU Traveler firewire studio interface 192 kHz 24 bit Monitor(s) Displays 22" widescreen Acer X223W LCD, 17" Compaq P75 CRT Screen Resolution 1680x1050 and 1280x1024 Keyboard Logitch Classical Keyboard 200 Mouse Logitech Mediaplay cordless PSU 350W generic Case Cybertronpc, it glows blue Cooling stock cpu fan, Ice-Q 3 gpu and system, many case fans Hard Drives SATA I x2 WD, 400 GB and 120 GB, SATA 2 WD Caviar Black 1 TB Internet Speed 1792/448 kbits/sec Other Info SATA II PCI fake RAID adapter, 1 GB Readyboost, original ATI Remote Wonder (even works with WMC perfectly), Logitech Rumblepad 2 game controller x2 |

You've probably broken a key part of your system. If the System File Checker won't work its time for a clean reformat. I wouldn't trust any backed up images either. Never install any useless software or try these hacks - something will break. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Sony Vaio Z46GDU OS Windows 7 Ultimate x86-64 CPU P9700@2.8GHz 1066MHz FSB Motherboard Sony branded Memory 6GB DDR3 1066MHz Graphics Card 9300M GS 256MB Dedicated (Speed) + Intel4500MHD (Stamina) Sound Card Realtek HD Audio Monitor(s) Displays 13.1' WXGA Screen Resolution 1600x900 Hard Drives 320GB 7200RPM w/ 16MB cache Internet Speed 1MB/s Unable to get into Computer Management problems?
