Unable to change Config Files

After installing Windows 7 everything seems to work okay, but I found that I can't change, or edit any Config files on Flight Sim, as I could do either on Vista or Xp before.
IT KEEPS WANTING TO GET PERMISSION FOR ADMINISTRATOR TO DO THIS, but this does not work as I am set up as an administrator, so what do I need to do to change the set up to enable me to change or edit files, so far everything that I have tried has failed.

Tried the Take ownership shortcut but does not help the problem, it still wants to deny me access to change config file, Thanks anyway, John MD

It's impossible for the OS to do that if you took ownership correct and you are already an administrator account.

If those conditions are true, it will edit fine.

Make sure read-only is not set on the file.

That's because you didn't take full ownership of it and apply your account's permission to it by typing in your user name and giving full permission.

Then give up on Windows 7 and go back to your old OS.

Config file changes

I might just do that and go back to Vista, at least it works well, and is certainly faster than this program in a number of areas, so far that I have found,,John MD

You obviously have not seen benchmarks of all areas to compare. You wouldn't say that if you have.

I love these kinds of cases where a noob user automatically assumes the fault could not possibly be something they are doing or have done - and then proceeds to blame the os or Microsoft.

Yes - noobs know better than Microsoft engineers. It's true.
