Buy another license
Hello.
I'm new here, and I searched for some answers, but couldn't. I'm sorry if has been covered before (most likely it has), so please just kindly show me the way to some existing threads if this has been asked before.
I purchased Windows 7 Home Premium (upgrade) and installed it on my desktop PC. Before I bought it, I read about a Family Pack, but because my laptop was so old, I didn't think Windows 7 would work well on it. I even used the Upgrade Adviser, and it said it wouldn't. So, I bought a single license.
Before activating my desktop installation, I decided to install it on my laptop to see what would happen. To my surprise, it not only runs just fine...it runs twice as fast as the XP installation that was previously on there.
Needless to say, I want to install Windows 7 on my laptop now, but know I cannot install my purchased copy on two computers. Had I known it was going to work, I would have bought the Family Pack! But now, I suppose my only course of action is to buy another copy of Windows 7 at full price (for $120).
So...I guess my question is, am I right in my thinking? There's no way now to get a Family Pack by purchasing two more licenses at discount, is there? Can I just purchase another license without the software and use the same installation DVD twice? If so, where would I buy another license?
Thanks for all your help.
