i've only had OEM copies of windows before, this is my first time with a retail version, so unsure about the support from MS

i think so. I tried it once and it asked me for a credit card when i tried to sign up.
i'll stick with Skype for now.

hmm, there not getting any more money from me.
if thats the case, it may have to be a reinstall

Retail versions come with time limited phone support, that is what most of the money goes to when you buy a retail version.
