Will I lose RAID array's when I install Win7?

Hi, Windows 7 Forums;
I'm currently running Vista Ultimate x86 and have two Striped RAID arrays. I've already tried to do an update with Windows 7 Ultimate and the system balked and restored the Vista OS informing me that it can't update this system. I've cleaned up my system drive and readied myself to reformat my sys drive to facilitate a clean install of Windows 7 but i'm worried about two RAID arrays that I have running. I don't want to have to create the arrays again and reformat the drives and lose all the data on them. Will I need to have all my drivers ready when I install Windows 7? and if I use the drivers as new wouldn't i lose my RAID? A loss of 2.5TB of data would set me back a long long time.

Thanks

Hi and welcome

You could run the update advisor to see if they would pass now

OK just ran the advisor. It looks like everything is compatible (See Report below) But when it says the device is compatible doesn't really ease my concerns. Being compatible and recognizing the arrays may be two different things (I Think)
In the past when you installed an OS you were prompted to have the RAID drivers at hand and install them when prompted. Not sure if this is still the MO. I want it to see the RAID that is already there and recognize it. Do you know if this is how it is handled?

Hasn't anybody installed Windows 7 on a system drive while there was an active RAID array in the background on internal HDD's?
