According to MS, the Windows 7 DVD included in manufacturer's OEM Upgrade Kits can be installed on any machine, but it cannot be activated except on the intended machine.
The key attached is tied in the manufacturer's database and MS activation computers to the OEM hardware config and Vista license on the computer.
