    I still think your best bet is to get another enclosure. You could have one shipped overnight (i don't know about the UK sorry) for about $40 bucks if its worth it too ya.

    Easeus data recovery wizard proffesional 4.3.6 i recovered a load of files recently when i deleted my ebook file from windows library , i didn't realize it would delete from my external hd, good luck.

    Look a data recovery program isn't going to work if you can't access the drive. These guys are a great help but you need to be able to access the drive to use them. If the enclosure is broke then these apps. aren't going to do anything for you. That's the bottom line.

    The problem most likely isn't the hard drive itself its most likely the enclosure.

    Susan - If you open a command prompt with the drive plugged in and type in;
    diskpart
    list disk
    list vol
