Windows 7: Start Menu Pinned items scroll

Start Menu Pinned items scroll

Okay, so I have a crapload of programs (mostly games) on my comp. I also abhor desktop shortcuts. I hate clutter. Anywho, I have my most frequently used stuff (Firefox, Pidgin, WMP, etc.) on my taskbar. For most everything else save a few progs. I hardly ever use, I pin them to the start menu. Problem is I ran out of space. Even with the recent items set to 0, every available item turned on on the right side to make the menu as large as possible, and using small icons, I ran out of space on the pinned item list. Is there any way to get the pinned item list to scroll? I mean I can add as many items as I want, but you can't get to all of them. As I delete items, the ones I couldn't view before come into view, so obviously they are being added to the list (where does Windows save that list anyway? I can't seem to find it). It seems really odd that the All Programs list can scroll but the pinned list can't? WTF? Is there any way to fix/change this?

You could uncheck "use large icons" in the start menu properties. That would gain you some space.

You must have a lot of programs! Sorry, I missed that. To the best of my knowledge, there is no way to make the list scrollable, at least without a small crack. Hopefully someone else will come along with more knowledge than me.

lol, yeah I do. For the time being I made 6 folders for catagories of programs (games, editing, etc.) and populated those folders with shortcuts to all my programs. Pinned those folders to the menu. It works, but not as well as I'd like. Since the pinned menu can't handle subfolders, clicking one of the catagories opens an explorer window (extra click) which I then have to close after launching the desired program (another extra click). Effective, but not exactly elegant. it blows my mind that MS would fail to implement such an obvious and simple feature.
