Thanks - good to know. Meanwhile I set the task bar to auto-hide, I think I like that even better.

I don't use windows gadgets either , i prefer a clean desktop and for this i use objectdock . i do however use yahoo gadgets for an email notifier and a neon clock the transparency can be set on these so they are not overbearing, i also use a stand alone calendar, rainlendar ,i use a clear one so as not to look cluttered also.

Very nice clean look there boohbah. Wonder what it uses in RAM tho compared to the same/similar Win7 Gadgets. My memory of Yahoo Widgets is they were more stable than Vista but nothing is as stable as Win7 gadgets - one year now without a hiccup.

Yeah I only currently use 1 gadget and it's only to tell me my ISP usage stats, eg. how much I've used, how much I've got left and how much I can download per day with the amount left.

I don't find too many of the gadgets useful but there are some. As has been pointed out earlier, finding the good ones can be difficult. My main issue is that there are so many that provide duplicate functions, how many clock different gadgets do we need? LOL
