Selecting Lines At Once & Show-Desktop Icon Questions

    Hello,

    New W7 user.
    Two questions, please:

    a. Let's say I have a Folder with a bunch of stuff in it.
I select the show details View, and each item is now a line rather than an Icon.
    Fine.

If I want to, e.g., select a dozen or so items to Delete, and not have to select and do them (each line) one at a time, how do I select a lot of lines at once ?

I seem to remember in XP I could just drag my mouse of a lot of lines, and they would all become shaded blue, as being selected.

But I can't seem to do that anymore.

I also tried Control and Shift keys without any luck.

Might it be my mouse (Logitek Wireless) has some option not enabled ?

So, how can I select many lines at one for a series of items shown in the Folder/Details View, please ?

    b. How do I place an icon shortcut on the taskbar for "Show Desktop" ?

    Thanks,
    Bob

Not sure about your first problem but the show desktop button is now located to the right of the clock, the rectangle on the far right of the taskbar
