    Things Disappearing, AGAIN

Hey, something strange is happenning to my PC, a few weeks later when installed W7 prof x64 on restart settings I did would disappear, adobe flash player plugin and stuff like that. That was another thread, that problem was fixed by adding something in the registry.

The current problem is that after I shutdown my computer last night .... Chrome has vanished completely, Adobe PDF and other software from my PC, just disappeared over night, the uninstall option still is in Add/Rem Programs but the actual files of my applications are gone.

The only thing I could remember doing last night was to install World of Warcraft, I have AVG Antivirus free, that served me well in the last two years, but now everything is messed up, Photoshop has lost it's settings again, the font Georgia has disappeared, (that I know of) creepy.

Does anyone have and idea regarding this?? my W7 installation is genuine (student stuff)

    Thanks.

Try doing a system restore to a point before your system went bonkers and see if that helps...You did image your system drive didnt you???

My system 'went bonkers' right after the installation.... really awkward,

UPDATE: after two restart it even forgot that it was licensed, I had to reactivate over the internet. FREAKY

I do have a Recovery image of the entire C: drive ... but I am afraid the same thing will happen, truth is that so far I had the beta builds of w7 and none of these problem occured, now, this W7 Prof x64 is just annoying.

Sounds like you're playing host to a nasty collection of malware or a malicious trojan has allowed someone remote access to your data, and to delete or copy what data they wish to...

There is no Adobe Flash Player for 64-bit systems so, no matter how many times Windows7 nags you to install it, it won't.

Your systems integrity has been compromised ... I would do a complete re-format of your drive then reinstall the OS...Hope this helps..

Patrick, it worked so far, and now it works again, it's been two restarts since Flash works again, the problem is with my missing data. :| ..... COMPLETE REINSTALL?, better av system and firewall? I am behind a router, with the firewall on... and so on.

Apparently that virus or whatever it is started to delete not only my settings or installed programs, it went into deleting folders [starting alphabetically] from my projects.

What Could it be? I am scanning as I speak on a third party pc my hard drivers with KAspersky, any other AV that is better than Kaspersky ? Imma try everyone of them jsut to avoid losing my files ..... so pls helkp.

    Thanks!
