"Allow computer to turn off this device" is grayed

    "Allow computer to turn off this device" is grayed


    for my mouse and keyboard
    "Allow computer to turn off this device" is grayed
    what could i do?????

    Hello Mr.Karan, and welcome to Seven Forums.

    You should be able to use the "powercfg" command in the STEP FIVE section in the tutorial below to manually set this.

    in devce manager i have unchecked the option "Allow this device to wake up computer"
    but i want the option "Allow computer to turn off this device" to be enabled
    but its grayed

    LOL, sorry about that. You cannot turn off the keyboard or mouse since they are always in use.

    when i hibernate my pc i want keyboard and mouse to be turned off

    When they are not in use, they are technically off. If you just did not want them to be able to wake the computer from hibernation, then having the "Allow to wake" unchecked will do this.

    but is there any way to turn them off
    i was able to turn them off in xp using that option but its
    grayed here
