Can you get the proper windows 7 animation?

Can you get the proper windows 7 animation instead of the dead-looking green vista progress bar on an MSI U100 Plus netbook?

    It should not do that.

    Did you upgrade from Vista?

It depends on the graphics processor, if it's not enough to handle Aero you'll get the Vista boot animation, what is the GPU of the machine?

run one of the following commands in an elevated command prompt, (with administrator rights):
type CMD in the start search and press Ctrl-Shift Enter

    bcdedit /set {current} locale en-US

    or

    bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US

    Change the en-US to the language version of the installed Windows 7, such as ja-JP, de-DE, es-ES, pt-BR, zh-CN, zh-TW, fr-FR, fi-FI and etc.

Restart the computer after running the command to see the new boot UI (user interface) be used again.

To check if the locale setting has been entered properly, just run the bceedit command in command prompt that runs as administrator.

If this does not fix the issue then it is likely to be as Bare Foot Kid has Stated and this is the fall-back state due to graphics limitations of your system

Try hitting Start and typing in the Search, Aero. You should get a link which will help you correct any problems.

I have aero, but it's the problem with the startup. But the startup doesn't need Aero.

The issue with certain net-books is the screen size ratio the win7 animation is designed in such a way that although it can be resized to cater for screen size it can only be used with certain screen Height / Width ratios, (4:3 & 16:9 IIRC).

Some ultra portable laptops and net-books are designed with a screen ratio that is non standard.

In these circumstances win7 is designed to revert to the older start-up which is compatible with these screens.

If neither of the options I posted above work for you it could be that your net-book is one that is incompatible with the new start-up animation.

Thanks Nigel, I've been wanting an explanation for this.
