Strange. Have you tried it in HEX?

    ; 07d0 HEX = 2000 DEC (2 sec)
    ; 0bb8 HEX = 3000 DEC (3 sec)
    ; 1388 HEX = 5000 DEC (5 sec)

    -------------------
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]
    "ExtendedUIHoverTime"=dword:00000bb8
; this delays the preview window pane on the taskbar
; you have to log off or do a restart in order for it to take effect
    ; 07d0 HEX = 2000 DEC (2 sec)
    ; 0bb8 HEX = 3000 DEC (3 sec)
    ; 1388 HEX = 5000 DEC (5 sec)
    ----------------------

save everything between the dotted lines as as ExtendedHIHoverTime.reg and see if that works.

Yeah, so do I. You can extended the delay time further....

Haven't come across a way to disable the preview panes.

Thats just it, I CANT extend the time delay!!! I have it sitting at 20 seconds as far as regedit is concerned and it still pops up in under 2!

I found another option that said to add a value and that would disable it, and it still doesnt. I dont know whats going on, it wont let me change ANYTHING.

    I TAKE THAT BACK!!

    R A... I love you, lol.

The extended hover and the TaskbarNoThumbnail regedit values were nulling each other out. I removed the NoThumbail value, cranked up the hover time to 20 seconds, logged out and in and its fixed!

And I'm 64 bit, not that it matters now. Should edit that in my specs though. *scampers off to do that*

You wouldn't think it would, but sometimes it does.
