Windows 7: I am an idiot.. Help? shutdown -s -t fail.

I used a shutdown command like this "shutdown -s -t 14400" which is 4 hours. But I was an idiot this morning and put "shutdown -s -t 144000" and now the shutdown part in the start menu is missing and I can not access the task manager...

Open an Elevated Command Prompt and simply re-enter the command. I would give a 30 second delay to ensure that it works, and then you can set it to whatever you want. Be careful of the 0s!

So do you want to just cancel the shutdown command?

If you are able to go into command prompt try this..
Go into Command Prompt and type in shutdown -a
That will abort your shutdown. You might have to go into elevated command prompt...

Again thanks but it still doesn't seem to work.
It just says "Unable to abort the system shutdown because no shutdown was in progress.(1116)"

Hi ,

I assume this cause due to the Local Computer Policy settings of your PC.
To resolve it do the following steps it might work

Go to Start Menu Type gpedit.msc
Go for the following option:
User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Start Menu and Taskbar
Double click on Remove and Prevent Access to the Shut Down command
Select any one of the option "Not configured" or "Disabled"
Shut Down the Group Policy window.
Might need to reboot
