Activate Win 7 German with English serial??

Hi

I have a second serial (because of the pre-order Promotion), from Windows 7 home Premium English. My parents have for the moment the rtm in German installed, but without activation, next moth the activation-time end.

So I will make a serial as Christmass gift, but is it possible to activate the German win7 with the serial from an English verson??

I will be upfront, I do not know the answer to your question, but there are others here who might. My advice is to call MS, they would have the definitive answer. In addition, they have the authority to give you little extras for little or no cost. Give them a call. With the economy in shambles, major compaines need good will.

I have a friend here in Mexico who bought a number of OEM keycodes from Microsoft. He wants a copy of my English Windows7 to install as OEM with his keycodes. If he's right, the language and country are irrelevant.

from the microsoft site, you can download language packs once you have activated the English account. let me have a peek around the micro'sft site and then i will post back.

solution : type this into an elevated command prompt (type cmd into search, right click and select 'Run as administrator'): Dism /online /Add-Package /PackagePath:C:\test\LangPacks\lp.cab. read the microsoft site for more details.
another thing also: type this in an elevated command prompt: Lpksetup
follow onscreen instructions.
