    Permission? What the...


    I was just trying to move an audio file from my Desktop to my Music folder... I got this window. Why? I am the only person with an account on my computer - other than my guest account...

    was music folder created in a different OS like vista, maybe? the other thing is it may just be UAC. Are you running as a standard user or admin?

    I believe i'm running as Admin... How can i check? I turned UAC off. This folder was not created with Vista.

    You can check by cpanel>users>your user name. does it say admin? See pic

    and here is how to change UAC User Account Control - UAC - Change Notification Settings

    Here is my UAC Screenshot... I have it completely off... I performed this function a while ago. i always make sure i restart my computer at least once a day

    maybe take ownership of the file?
    download the first 'download' button from this tutorial, and once downloaded double click.
    once it has merged, right click the music file and there should be a 'Take ownership' button. click, then see if it will move.
