dual boot time not responding

    dual boot time not responding


    i can change boot time in system properties or in msconfig but the time not changing in boot manager list it stays on 30 sec whatever i change it.

    i have dual boot win 7 and vista. please help me fix that.thank you

    Try reading through this tutorial for instructions on how to use BCDEDIT to change the boot time.

    Open an Elevated Command Prompt and type the following command bcdedit /timeout 10 Note that you can include whatever number you want, and that will be the delay in seconds. I suggest 10 because that gives you sufficient time to invoke the alternative OS if you want.

    i did what you said but it changed in system properties and msconfig but did not change 30 sec in boot manager list(not responding).

    Here is another thought:

    Go to msconfig, under the Boot tab, make sure the box "Make all settings permanent" is unchecked.

    msconfig "Make all settings permanent" unchecked and i followed point by point all what is said in How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows Recovery Environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows )..but still have same ..time not changing. thank you
