    Folders

    Hey,

so my dad has a ton of folders with more folders in those folders and each folder has music in them. Is there any tool that will take the music out of the folders and allow me to drop the music in another location?

    try this:

Search within the "main" folder that holds the other folders for the music files [mp3, aac, etc]. Once it has listed all the files, select all of them and copy/paste to another location.

Here's an example of 4 documents in 4 different folders within this tree:

    Stuff
    *2
    *3
    **4

    Copy Folder Contents

Create a folder called music on your desktop. Press the start button and type *.mp3 in the search field. This will open a window that lists all of the mp3 files on your computer. Within this window select orginize, select all. Copy these files to your new music folder. Delete old folders. If you have multiple audio formats you will have to do a seperate search for each format.

Different area, same method, probably same results.

Take note though this will search your ENTIRE computer not just the area in question that has the music you want.

Don't copy...it will take forever. Use "Move" instead. As long as it is on the same drive, it will be almost instant.
