Problems with .iso and .rar files

Hello,

I just bought myself a new Computer and also Windows 7 Home Premium.

I think its great and I wont go back to Vista or Xp, but..

every single .rar/.zip file I download is damaged/corrupted, even after I redownload it and i just cant find out why .. even the .rar recovery programm doesnt help

same problem with .iso files, when I download one and try to use it via daemon tools, it just tells me, that there is no cd in drive

anyone got a solution for this?

oh and i use the 64-bit versions of daemon tools/winrar/7zip as i have a 64-bit system

Hi Amazeroth, Welcome to SF,

Do you use any application to download the files like Download Accelerator Plus.
What browser do you use to download IE or Firefox ?? What Firewall do you use ??

Try to disable any Download Accelerator and clear the file cache for your browser. That should solve your problems. Also try to save your files to another partition.

Try detouring around your router just long enough to try a small download and see what happens/

Are those programs specifically designed for Windows 7 x64?

I haven't checked the rest, but WinRar does have an x64 version:

well...i know this is frustrating, but try to do a clean install of Windows 7 32bit. See if that solves the problem. Some applications have compatibility issues with Windows 7 64bit, so i think even you have a 64bit system, it will be better with Windows 7 32bit & 32bit Applications. Hope this helps you (correct me if i'm wrong)
