    Spudd,

I'm happy to hear that you got it sorted. :)

You can make sure that you have System Protection turned on, and create restore points before you install or make any changed to your system. This way you can do a system restore back to that restore point when in case anything should happen to easily undo it. They also come in handy when something like this happens.

Yeah... went there yesterday, I think the FS was in a bit of a pickle as I couldn't actually get in to any of it. I can't remember the actual error but my accidental reinstall was much needed.

Cheers for the help and support guys.

As BRINK pointed out, the SFC /Scannow command worked like a charm again on this error.
Seems to be related to themes that are installed on various ways. this has happened 2 times for me lately with 2 different themes. Dark VS and Shine 2.0, both downloaded from Deviant Art. I'm wondering if anyone else has this problem? or if it's something gone wrong with my system. But as i said: the restore to standard Aero theme solved the whole bit.
And I'm more than happy to say that i actually can live with Microsoft's design and colors as long as i can tweak some underlying settings found written here on Sevenforums.com
