    What new features do you like?

    I have found in one day two very nice features. Please post stuff you have found different from Vista. I am running build 7048 ultimate. It's on an old machine I almost didn't install it. I didn't think it would run. It runs as good as XP did on the same system. Let us know about the new useful features.

    1. The problem recorder.

    This records problems you are having and saves the screen shots and details to a file. GREAT APP!!!!

    2. The new resource monitor

    This new resource monitor is WONDERFUL. It lets you really find out what's happening on your hard disk, memory, CPU, and network. BIG improvement over Vista.

    Please post new stuff we might not know about. Thanks.

    The biggest one I like, is the fact that Vista can finally sit alongside Windows ME on that big shelf of failure and discuss what could have been.

    I fear you're right although I will not be bad-mouthing Vista. I have had a good experience with Vista. I just think 7 is going to take it down. It will take a while. Vista now has 23% market share. XP users will be what does it. 63% still use XP. They will mostly move to Windows 7. Yes Vista will end up on the shelf. It will take a few years.

    The big plus it has a smaller footprint, in memory as well as processor load. The difference with vista is staggering, although sp2 makes up a lot

    the gui additions i already had 3rd party in vista (better quality then 7's implementations) so thats moot for me

    and some features i find downright a hindrance (libraries)

    This "library" thing bothers me too. Why change what's been working fine.

    There's a lot of welcome changes in 7, almost too many to list :)

    Some of my favourites:

    * Delayed services on start-up (no more hard drive thrashing and waiting 10-15 min until Windows settles down)

    * Explorer Window>Right-click>open new Window (long overdue)

    * Aero Snap/peek/live preview functions

    * Start menu - Easier to find system tools by typing in the search field ie type 'create' and you have an option for creating a restore point. Doesn't exist in Vista etc

    * Changing DPI without restart

    * Libraries (I like them )

    * Plus heaps more

    I like the libraries feature.

    It allows me to consolidate all my data into logical places, like Documents, Pictures, Videos, or whatever other library I might need (I've added one for Programming). Regardless of where the information is saved, I have all my Pictures in one place, or all my Downloads. Which for me is pretty cool, since all my stuff is spread out across 8 hard disks....
