    Changes In Windows 7 Build 7048 x86

Here are some things i have personaly noticed in Windows 7 build 7048 x86, compared to Windows 7 build 7022 x86.

    1. New brighter start orb

    2. My radeon 9600 Series driver is now included and no longer pre-release.

    3. There are new compatability modes includiong vista service pack 2

    4. There are some new themes/backgrounds

    5. There are new sound schemes

    6. There are some new icons and small graphical tweaks

    7. It no longer shows my (empty) FDD which is great as it stops the disk checking noise when i open explorer

    8. Internet Explorer no longer says "Release Candidate"

    9. I seem to be able to overclock more without BSOD on my old athlon xp 2600+

    10. New more noticable flashing warnings in taskbar

    11. It now says if you have any touch/pen devices in system

    12. Windows update tried downloading/installing windows defender definitions that were previous to the version already installed, i updated to the latest manually.

    13. I have had a strange "Homegroup Provider has stopped working" error after connecting via dial up.

    14. New "Work" group? Not sure if this is new or not...?

    15. The taskbar has been optimised so you can fit more icons on it

    16. The “send feedback” link has been removed from the title bar of windows

I always do a clean install and never trust upgrades. But an upgrade will more than likely work.

Will the Build 7000 serial number work on Build 7048?

If not, I don't htink I want to go to a torrent or share site and download it, only to use a workaround product key. I might just wait and hope that the RC is open for download to all of us who downloaded Build 7000.... I hope...

Upgrading build 7000 to build 7048 was fast and nice for me No need to backup files and settings; no need to burn the iso; just click install and have a seat.

If you don't have a lot of documents on it, prefers a clean install

One little change I've noticed in the 7048 x64 over the 7000 build is that the compatibility mode options have expanded to include Vista, Vista SP1, and Vista SP2 from the Vista RTM in 7000
