    Win7 won't accept password

    Hi Folks
I have just purchased a new laptop (toshiba) with win 7 installed at the shop .I brouhgt the machine home ,started it up and let it complete the installation . After all that was complete I let the unit time out & go into sleep mode .When I attempted to get back in my password is not accepted . Any Ideas

since its fresh and you have no data on it, re-install from scratch.

No caps lock is off & I just tried the battery reset ....no luck, looks like I will have to re-install and then make a password reset disk just in case before I let it go to sleep. one more quick question .If I use a USB stick as a password reset disk can that usb stick have other information on it......thanks for all the ideas

I figured as much, thought I would ask anyways.

If you make a recovery disk, use a dedicated CD for it, not a USB drive.

I would go with a CD. Not a usb.

You can have other information on it but only one Password reset file in the root directory.
