I'm now trying to find where the system stores the pinned items on the taskbar. It was supposed to be in shell:user pinned, but if you delete or place new shortcuts there, it doesn't reflect it on the taskbar. Its like they're put there for reference only when they're pinned.
    Any ideas, Aaron?

yeah, weird. They are in shell:user pinned. it doesn't show any effect deleting that way but it does if you delete from the taskbar. the pinned item no longer works if you delete it from shell:user pinned, but it still stays on the taskbar.

LOL, yeah that registry location is nice. To bad some of them do not work yet though.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer\FolderDescriptions
