Upgraded to Win7 Ultimate still burning problem..

Hello evreyone..
my problem is so simple but anoying and i still did'nt figure out whats wrong?
I am on HP Pavilion, i used to be on Vista Home premuim and i recently installed windows 7 ultimate. My problem is i can't burn a Music CD/ISO/Image CD's. But i can Burn Movies On DVD!! so lets see some pix :D
1) ISO FILE BURN..

2) Music CD Burn..




NOTE: I've tried Realplayer/iTunes/Nero9 They ALL GIVE AN ERROR :D
so i checked the device manager and its all good and Updated!!



PLEASE GUYS HELP ME!!

Have you checked to see that the drive is connected properly? Maybe a loose cable?

Edit: So you can burn to DVDs but not CDs?

Go to 'Computer' and right click your CD/DVD Drive. Go to properties and then the 'Recording' Tab. Could you post a screenshot of that?

I may be old fashioned but this is what I would do.
1. I would uninstall the DVD/CD from the device manager and reboot.
This may reinstall or find newer drivers that may work.

2. If 1 fails to change anything I would try an prove the drive is working or not.
Can you play any music CD?
Can you play any DVD movie?
If not then the only idea I would shutdown the computer
Open the case and unplug the ribbon and replace with another one.
I would also check both sides of this cable as well as the power cable.

Have you tried burning to a different brand of CDs? Verbatim is good.

like what would it be? im so confused!! whats wrong evrey thing is perfect and its an all new windows :S

Your drive might not be compatible with Windows 7. Has it ever burned to a CD before? Have you ever had Windows XP?

No i never had XP on it, i bought it with Vista home premuim 32bit. and it was working well for year and there was no problem burning. before a couple of months the problem started, i tried to go back to restore points but there was no use.
This week i installed Win7 ultimate 32bit, and here i am! :S

The only thing i noticed in your first post where you went to device mgr there's an exclamation point beside your chipset driver, that's where i would start.

I think you have a faulty drive. I think your best is to replace it. They're pretty cheap.

GUYS I UNINSTALLED THE CHIPSET THING AND RESTARTED THOUGHT IT WILL INSTALL AGAIN, THE DVD_R DID BUT NOT THE CHIPSIT THING NOW MY SCREEN IS SO DARK :(((( what should i do?
