    Windows 7 key legitimity checker

One of my friend got windows 7 key from one of the online forum. Can he use Microsoft PIDX Check or Windows 7 Product Key Checker to check legitimity of the key? If so will it only check whether key is genuine or it also validates? He doesn't want to validate key immediately on his current PC which is quite old.

    Thanks

Your Product Key Checker link was removed for copyright infringement. Maybe it was uploading people's keys to sell them to people who then want to verify them?

The only way to check a Win7 Product Key is to attempt to activate it in an installation.

Then clearly it is not a legitimate key.

It just amazes me that people will go to a place online, buy a key for a very cheap price and wonder if there is a slim chance that the key is no good. == There is a very old saying that covers almost all purchases in life. "You Get What You Pay For".

I think the aphorism you are looking for is, "If it seems to good to be true, it usually is."

If it has been activated. Then it is legitmate?
Then clearly it is not a legitimate key.
Why? May be the seller won the key or has a technet etc subscription or was a student(win7 30$). can't he?

You cannot resell Technet keys or the Student Discount keys.
You most certainly cannot transfer Technet keys, at all.
