    Cannot Open Mouse Settings

When I go to Control Panel and click on the Mouse icon, it would not open and nothing happens. I tried accessing from Start>>Search and click on Mouse Settings and it would not open too. Anyone with the same experience? Can someone help me with this problem?

If you do not want to perform a System Restore, you can access the Mouse Properties Control Panel using the command prompt.

    Commands:

    CONTROL MOUSE (or) MAIN.CPL

I'm wondering if you can get it to open from Safe Mode? If so, that would indicate that some program or driver is interfering with it on a normal boot. You could then disable everything in the msconfig's Startup tab, and see what happens booting normally. If you can then open the control panel, you just need to reenable items disabled previously, one at a time until you find the culprit.

I restored my laptop using a system image I created earlier and all problems are solved. I don't want to spend so much time finding the culprit. Anyways all is fine now and thank all for reading.
