Cap Lock Pop Up Is Disabled

Dell had to take my labtop back down to the factory settings last night, and after that the notification pop up for the cap lock and the ghost image of the sound volume disappeared. I believe there is a setting that wasn't turned back on. Can someone please show me how to turn both of these back on?

If you look at folder options under the view tab, there is a box for showing popup descriptions near the bottom of the list. You might try that.

You will have to excuse my ignorance, but I don't even know where to find the folder options.

There isn't a view tab on the desktop. I can't get the buttons on the keyboard to operate the sound now. Where do you find the keyboard properties or the keyboard toggle button?

The utility that you need is Dell QuickSet. You can find it here. Download and install. It will restore the popup for all of the function keys including caps lock.

Great...it worked...thanks! I have another thing though...the mute, volume on, volume off don't work on the keyboard, I have to use the icon on the bottom right-hand side (by the clock). Do you have a fix for that?

You need to install all the drivers for what you want.
Type in 'Device Manager' on the start menu search, and press enter.
Under 'Sound, Video and Game controllers', double click on the device (Something like 'Realtek Audio'?).
Go to the 'Drivers' tab, and click on update. It should search for one, and if there isn't an update, go to this page to download the drivers.
    Drivers & Downloads
From the device manager, choose the audio device driver from the website above, and download and install.

When you did a factory reset, all of the drives and files were deleted, so you will have to do install them manually.

    Hope this helps, Dom.

Are there any other driver updates or anything else that you recommend I do after Dell had to reset the factory settings?

Just download all the drivers from that page I showed you.
    Not sure about anything else.

Does your buttons now all work?

Downloading that driver from the website didn't work. The sound device is IDT High Definition Audio...any other suggestions to get the buttons on the keyboard to work?
