Windows 7: System wakes from sleep around the same time

System wakes from sleep around the same time

My recent install of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit has been great except for one small problem. It wakes itself up every night around 9:30pm. I looked in the event viewer and found that the system either updates the time from the internet server or updates Media Center.

Is there any workaround that will get this to stop?

In media center you should be able to adjust updates. The same go's for windows update. I always have mine manual. You could also go to your power options and click on advance to manually set each individual system setting.

This OS is designed to wake when a sceduled task is being performed. You can stop this behavior by typing task scheduler in the search box, by the start menu. Go to the task scheduler and look at the various tasks. You can, then, change the schdule or cancel it depending upon your need. The give away to your question is the fact that you mention that it happens at the same time.

I do not think that you have a problem, but you might just want to make a virus scan, just in case.
