How bothered are MS about leaks?

    Hi all,
Im just interested to know this. I can remember as far back as whistler when those leaks were fast and furious, what if any measures MS have taken to combat leaking outs. Vista, granted had quite a few leaks if memory serves me right but over a longer period of development i suppose that was to be expected. Which brings me to 7. Seems that we have had quite a few leaks of this as a shorter cycle this surprised me. ( not saying im not gratefull to play with new things, which i am) this brings me to my point.
So how many of you think they are bothered about leaks? surely they are getting feedback from real world enviroment so it may benefit them.
It would just be interesting for me to know thats all. lol

    Regards

Well between beta1 and 7048 i bet they where more bothered about bad publicty, then actualy 7048 leak. If you rememeber how many people started to complain about lacking builds for offical beta testers and how MS doesnt listen to them etc etc. Now suddenly that negative publicy all went quiet, since people have something to do with new builds. However they can officaly "allow" them, but im guessing they dont bother to much (specialy since they create only positive publicty), however if suddenly there will be new build every week then they might take new messures to stop leaking.

Leaks = Hype and press coverage after the complete disaster of the Vista release I think that they will take all they can get.

I believe leaks work for M$'s own benefit...

This way they can silently "test" more and more builds, without having to release several public betas every once in a while.

The fact that Microsoft spokesmen have stated that they would welcome feedback from whatever build you are running is, I believe, an acceptance of the leaks

I too think the leaks are positive for MS, as i just installed 7048 a couple days ago and i might add working flawlessly so far. I'll probably pass on 7057 and play with this for awhile.

I suspect MS encourage these leaks. Users are creating a hype that the marketing department can only dream about.
