Network Icon missing.

    Network Icon missing.

Everytime after I install an antivirus program my network icon goes missing, I can't switch it on also under the customize screen, option is greyed out. It does the same thing with AVG and Kaspersky. It is doing this with build 7048 and 7057, but not on 7022!

Can anyone help me on this one?

    Regards!

    Hello TheBull,

I have not tested this in Windows 7 yet, but you might see if Method Three in the tutorial below may help. I would use the Manual method to check the registry to see if the HideSCANetwork entry is there or not. Delete if it is.

Notification Area - System Icons - Vista Forums

If this does not help, then a workaround that usually works is to restart the computer (maybe a few times).

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Same issue with 7057 but after 3 or 4 re-boots it reappeared.

Hey Brink, thanks! I tried that plus I went into group edit and tried it there as well, no go!
I also just restarted 5 times, and now some of my other icons that was there before also went missing. Like the action centre one and Internet download manager's one. Also my webcams. (programs that start at startup).
Anyone out there with a solution to this!

    Please!!!!

Brink, tried that too, didn't work. What an annoying issue!

    Thanks for trying though!

Well, I guess it would be best to go ahead and do a Repair install then.
