Syskey settings for log on not boot up

    Hi there

not sure iff i should post here this is my first post long time reader.

But anyway i started using the syskey option in windows as in the last month
3 laptop have been stolen and 7 have been messed with at my training school
however recently i have noticed what i think to be a problem.

The syskey option is good for PC boot up but after that windows never asks
for it agen. is there any way to make windows read the syskey whenever i need
    to log on.

    Exsample.
I turn on my laptop at school need the USB syskey to logon. I have my time
on the HAAS mini mill (CNC Machine) so i leave the laptop it auto logs off.
ATM you just log in with a PW but that can be bypassed i know i have tested it
however can i make windows need the syskey agen for my logon to work.

I use the USB key to store all my NC files for the machines so it is always safe
but i dont want the laptop ****ed with.

any one have any idears on how i can acheve this.

    Many thanks

    Mark

Then you'll need to shut it down. Syskey only works from a Cold or Re-boot Once the system is running, whether locked or Auto Log Off, Syskey doesn't come into play. All you need then, as you have found out, is a Local account password.
