    at the moment i have a Fujitsu Esprimo E5905 PC running widows XP home edition

    We need a bit more info than just 'Pentium 4'. There are lots of those processors that support different OS's. Can you give a bit more detail about the processor by using this program:
    http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_153_setup.exe
    and post a screenshot of it please.

    Yes it is 64 bit,

    Intel® Pentium® 4 Processors 630 - SL7Z9

    and the full list of x64 capable P4's,

    Filter Summary

    as long as the specs list "Intel® EM64T" then it can run 64 bit.
