Task Manager Icon in Windows Notification Area List

If Task Manager is not running and I go to the Notification Area Icons List, there is a listing at the bottom for Windows Task Manager. If I try to use the option Show Icon and Notifications, I get the error message that the Icon is Currently not Active. I have tried to reset the Notification Area List using the registry reset method as described in these forums, but it has not worked. Is this normal to have the Windows Task Manager Icon listed in the Notification Area with this message?

It is possible that the Task Manager didn't fully shutdown, even though it appeared to. Reopen the Task Manager and see if it is listed on the application tab. If so, kill it, then go to the processes tab and do the same. Just in case you have multiple logins, check the box to show processes for all users.
