Go into your Control Panel and Mouse applet... choose the tab which pertains to your touchpad manufacturer (ALPS, Synaptec, etc) and in that area will be the option to disable or enable the touchpad when typing...

Look for that option. There have been many cases of your problem and the solution was always the same, deactivate touchpad. Look at your manual, check the website. I am sure that is the answer

I do not have a touch pad, but in control panel, under mouse or touchpad (if there is such an icon) is disable mouse while typing checked. Reseach says that may be a problem. On my control panel there is a check (in mouse command) to make it invisible while typing.

Try getting the most current drivers. Go to the website of the manufacturer of the touchpad.

Go to device manager, make sure you there are no yellow warning markers, to show problems for the mouse. Make sure you have the most updated driver for the mouse, too.

That sounds like a custom setting - have you checked any proprietary software installed on that laptop.
