Windows 7: My 30 days is almost up... extending?

ok here the weird part...
ive been runnung the vm for at least 6 hrs and nothing unusual from getting the activation screen (click activate later makes everything startup...)
im not getting any timebomb at all....
im begining to believe there were scaring us into using the newer os....
but hey i havent finished researching into this...
this was a clean install of 6801 and FF time to Feb 13 2009



i forgot to say i cannot test aero and any of those goodies because they cannot be enabled in vmware..
but im still stumped...

update...
there are nagging popups saying activation is needed but other than that there i nothing...
will see what happens in july...lol

there is no changes from Feb to july....
i believe all the features such as aero and the rest are the ones that will timebombed...
this is Windows 7 6801....
i will see if can force aero to work and try some testing....
the os itself is still funtional except for the nagging it is completely usuable


i will also see if i can enable the blue badge features....

When it comes down to the Milestone 3 releases of the next iteration of the Windows client, the expiration date is officially set to August 1, 2009. This despite the operating system indicating via Winver that it will expire as early as July 1, 2009. With or without a product key, pre-release versions of Windows 7 including Build 6801 and 6956, but not earlier than 6801, can be used up until August 1, 2009.

The expiration date of Windows 7 is delivered under the Time Sensitive Software section of the End User License Agreement. “This software will stop running on August 1, 2009. At the same time, on Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, and Windows 7 Server (Windows Server 2008 R2) slmgr permits the prolonging of the trial period. On Windows 7, the trial can be extended to as much as 120 days via slmgr -rearm. Each execution of the command in a command prompt window will add 30 days of trial mode, but it will also reset the expiration counter to zero. In this context, users will have to execute the command as Windows 7 copies are just about to expire.

In addition to the expiration of the Windows 7 development milestone bits, August 1, 2009, is also synonymous with the expiration of the operating system's license. “The term of this agreement will expire on August 1, 2009. You have the right to use the software under the license terms of this agreement during this period. If you do not have a product key, you may need to reinstall the software every 30 days.”

ok here you go i actually changed it to september (dont ask me why...lol)
and there was nothing....
i mean there is the screen and i have a uptime of 50 mins....
will update if anything happens....

it might also be that i have disabled networking...lol

You can stop all those nagging pop ups and stop your aero disappearing on startup with a simple fix. Just go to this file and rename it like so and remember to take full ownership of the file and your set.

sorry forgot to say that that was what happens when you reach the time limit...lol
as norm said that Aug 09 was supposedly the end of Win 7 it was a challenge i couldnt resist...lol
i found it a few minutes ago how to disable it (check Processxp... i think it was you who told me that i wasnt updated thanks.... just want to let everyone what happens)
as for the aero its just isnt supported.... (remember vm)
i have aero great on my real machine and its blazing...
but thanks anyway....

P.S i also put the event logs just in case some say i lied that i must have photoshoped this or other...
so thats why the logs are ....

It would be nice if the different builds aren't time bombed; we shall see what we shall see....

Hopefully they'll have Windows 7 perfected by then....

i hope they were talking about the extra functionality because if not the MS lied....lol
idk maybe they have a killswitch that might come as a update who knows...
as far as i know its still a usuable machine...
can install and remove apps as easily as if i was on regular machine....
