Windows latest build - 7061 "Almost" out in the wild RC1 delayed to May

    Hi there
It seems that yet another build (7061) might hit "The usual places" soon -- this is "reputed" to be near RC1 but not near enough so this build needs testing (7061) as well.

Looks like Microsoft has quite a bit more work to do before the actual RC1 however - -- now delayed until May (at least).

Not sure what the problem is as the Beta testing seem to be going fine.

Oh well here we go again -- good practice installing and upgrading OS'es.

Source is : Windows 7 Build 7061 Out, RC-Escrow in April, RC in May 2009 - Forget Build 7057 - Softpedia

    Cheers

On other forums the topics say "out in the wild" without "Almost", like they knew it's really out there or somebody actually has it Well, it would be nice if we could get a leak.

hopefuly less bugy ?:) i dont care about any other visual changes, just audiodg.exe memory leak when using microphone, UI aero bug with certain sliders (in MPC for example) and network discovery bug are pretty annoying.

What's with all these builds? I've never followed an OS release this closely. Is Windows 7 at final release going to be "build 7000"? Was XP not "build 5000" and Vista "build 6000" with service packs bumping it up 1 to "6001" for instance (for Vista) Has this changed or is this how it's done. At this rate the final release will be "build 8081" or something. What's up?
