    Printscreen windows 7 pro.

Any idea why my printscreen option would not be working. When i push the printscreen butoon and then go to paste in paint, the paste button is shaded and only paste from is available to select. But i have no idea where the image saves on the pc when u push the prntscrn button. Anyone know what the deal is?

Disregard- remove post. I found out the issue.

Make sure you are hitting the pre-req buttons. I know some laptops require you to hit a FN key etc etc.

Use Irfanview instead of Paint IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide
You'll know where to find image next time.

Use the snippet tool thats built into Windows 7. You can access this by typing snip in the search box.

Well, you just answered my question.

I just bought a laptop and when the Print Screen didn't work I contacted HP. They replied and told me I had to use the FN key in conjunction the Print Screen key for a screen shot.

I never had to do that before and wanted to know if that was normal.

So is this a Windows 7 issue or a laptop quirk?

Hello Vegaspat, and welcome to Seven Forums.

This is a common laptop keyboard issue/requirement instead of Windows 7 to have to press the FN key to use that function on the keyboard. That's all. :)
