It's no trouble at all. Most of use are here to both learn and help.

    I'm glad it's fixed.

Sorry to re-raise this question but I have the same problem but with files and considered the thought processes to be similar. If the mods consider this wrong, I'll re-post as a new subject.

An Excel file saved last night in My Documents (which is located on a separate partition) is showing a previous date modified when viewed in Explorer. When I attempt to open the file either using Explorer or “file open” in Excel the date modified is the same as the creation date and so does not appear at the top of the list when sorted on Date modified. Also, when I right click the file in Explorer and check the properties it is showing the correct Date modified.

However, if I try to add the file to an Outlook email as an attachment the Insert File dialogue shows the correct information. If I then open that file from the draft email then Save As and “overwrite” the original file, when I go back to Explorer I see two versions of the file with the same name and if I rename the “old” file both files change and the correct date modified is shown going forward. This is very disconcerting.

File system is NTFS and I’m using Office 2010.

In the main, I like Windows 7 – everything except Explorer. I can’t imagine what they were thinking of when they gave it such random behaviour.

I'm having the samen problem Hd is already NTFS formated so that won' t help. When I go to "properties" of a file, then the modified date is correct but when I take an overview in a map , the the modified date is incorrect. So I can't search files on modification date anymore this way.

It appears only to be so when I go the the document with "Library". When I go to the folder with: User and then go the document folders everything os fine. So it has something to do with how the library works.
