My problem is with the fact that there is nothing fundamentally new in 7 for doing computing work. 7 is pretty and I actually like using it, but when its balls to the wall to get the work done and a product out, I use my XP machine because there is nothing in 7 that will increase our productivity or efficiency. But I do admit, its improved Microsoft's bottom line.
I agree with some of what you're saying, but if you're looking for a
fundamentally new way of computing, you're gonna have to wait until Windows 57 or whatever the hell they'll call it when your kids or grandchildren are using it. Is your software issue necessarily a problem with 7, or a problem with how it works with the 7 architecture? Not saying that in a pompous way. Just saying that the changes from XP to 7 are not all insignificant or cosmetic. I don't know anything about fluid dynamics software.
But if people are having problems with Grand Theft Auto with 7, think about the demands from your kind of software, which can freak out a supercomputer.
