Check to make sure some of your programs are compatibile with windows 7 in the compatibility center.
If application is hanging every two seconds, it would slow down your system a lot. Also, you can check your system files with a cmd command : sfc / scannow
Thanks guys, but it's pretty much mellowed out for some reason. I now have 20-30 processes running at any given time. Thanks for the info.
Once you have more RAM (3GB is a practical Max. for 32bit), you'll be OK.
Btw: Sparkie's recommendation to run sfc /scannow is useful. But not the way sparkie wrote it, there is NO BLANK in front of scannow, only in front of the slash. And cmd is not very foregiving with syntax errors.
