    European Keyboard Input problem

    Hi all,
I've had windows 7 for a while. On two computers, one version is RC and the other is OEM, but both seem to have this strange feature, which I can't say I like.

Basically, when typing in certain applications, such as Pidgin, or Firefox (not consistently, but often) some of my keyboard buttons turn into modifiers instead of simple input.. So when I press the ' button nothing appears, and then, after hitting a, b, c or another vowel or consonant a european looking modified vowel/consonant appears..

Ok so system information: Windows 7 RC and OEM. Keyboard settings - US International. Erm.. system specs, I can't imagine are important or at all relative, but one computer is a presario v3000 laptop, and the other is a custom desktop.

Thanks for considering, let me know if there's any more info to provide =D
    Robin

If this exact thing is happening on 2 different PC's
And you are getting the exact same results on both...

Then it is some program you have installed that is doing it.
Something is maybe changing the language settings or something, or has a hot key set to do so.

That is not a normal function of Win 7, nor a problem with 7 if it is happening on 2 systems with same results.
Start uninstalling apps and see which one is causing the problem.

Man, thanks for the reply. I can't imagine that's really the problem, because I just got the desktop spanking new, and there's little on it. Irfanview, Notepad++, WoW, Filezilla and little else..
    I'll double check though!
