Individual Files in Libraries

Is it possible to assign individual files to a library? So far, I have only found a way to put a folder in a library and when I do that the entire file list for that folder appears in the library.

Thank you.

Libraries are virtual folders not virtual files so to answer your question, no. Instead maybe use a symbolic link (made with mklink with the command line) and link the file in a certain folder. Or just put it in a folder already set to the library.

OK, I understand. Can't help wonder if creating a folder and putting shortcuts to the files, maybe fewer than a dozen, in that folder and assign it to a library. I guess I don't realize the difference between a link and a shortcut.

Thanks again.
