Why are you testing Win 7? Is it because you want to see how fast this new OS is?
Gaming?
Office and business applications?
Just curious as to what's to come?
Since this *will* be a new Windows OS, do you have anything to add for your reasons?
As for me, I'm testing it to see how much malware we will see in the coming months once it's an official OS.
It didn't take long for us to see that users could infect their Vista OS's by not following advice from the experts. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Bruce ... somewhere in his 40's OS Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit SP1 CPU Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU @ 2.40GHz, 2400 MHz Motherboard INTEL/D975XBX2 Memory 4 GB Graphics Card ATI Radeon HD 2600 Pro Monitor(s) Displays Samsung SyncMaster 914v Screen Resolution 1280 x 1024 Keyboard Standard PS/2 Keyboard Mouse Microsoft PS/2 Mouse PSU Rocketfish 700 W Case G.Skill Gigabyte Chassis Hard Drives 2/500GB each ... Because I was bored of XP... after using MAC OSX, kubuntu, and opensuse, I felt like I wasn't going back to the horrible interface of XP... and Vista wasn't an option. So, I decided with 7 after I realized that macosx and other linux distros were really stupid to use on a everyday computer. I mean, you can't even have a decent chat on MSN, or play any great game around. Even office for mac sucked, and open office sucked more. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP 530 OS Windows 7 - 7000 CPU Intel Core 2 Duo T5200 Motherboard Mobile Intel 945GME Express Chipset Memory 2 GB DDR2 SDRAM Graphics Card Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, up to 224-MB shared s Sound Card Conexant CX20549 Monitor(s) Displays 15.4-inch WXGA BrightView Screen Resolution 1280 x 800 Hard Drives 120-GB 5400 rpm SMART SATA Other Info It's a notebook, in case you didn't noticed. |

Well, I'm not actually testing Windows 7, I just got it since it's free and Vista was pretty bad. Plus, new things are always nice to try out, especially when I hear good stuff about it from many sources. | My System Specs | | |

Like SK, it was a new toy. Vista runs great for me, but 7 runs better and makes some things I do easier. This will be the first OS I buy rather than get pre-installed on a new comp. Also wanted to try x64 but didn't want to buy a x64 Vista.

I'm not "testing" Windows 7, I'm using it! I'll never install any Vista again, because Windows 7 is better IMHO. It already runs stable, fast and reliable. All the software I need works, all devices I use are supported (or the Vista drivers work). So I'm using it as my production system and I'll never look back. I even use it on my HTPC now and it works perfectly!
