    Odd files in user section all files are 524.288 KB


    Not sure if this is normal but I am getting what looks like registry type residue files in my user section.. is this normal..there are about 30 of them various dates

    richc46 thanks for the reply ...I appreciate it..however that tuturial does not help me...The files in quesation are very visble and are in my user/name file..about 30 of them all showing same size and all ending with regtrans.ms. My system seems to be Ok ..but I am not sure of these files ( win7 64 bit)

    These are normal NT.DAT files. Maybe you were just exploring and found them, but my recommendation would be to make sure you have "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)" checked in Tools, Folder options, View.

    It's safer and a lot less clutter. :)

    Thanks you for you help..I am happy that what I was seeing was normal..... I guess I am suspicious of most things new..win7 64 bit included
